  • His Highness The Father Emir (may Allah protect him) visited the Republic of Costa Rica during the period from 25-26 January 2010, during which he met with then-Costa Rican President and senior officials of the country and discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations and issues of common concern, and a number of agreements have been signed.
  • The Embassy of Costa Rica in the State of Qatar was opened on 6 May 2010. The first Ambassador of Costa Rica presented his credentials to His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani (may Allah protect him), Emir of the State of Qatar, on 15 June 2010.
  • The former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, Mr. Rene Castro, visited Qatar in October 2010 and met with His Highness The Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud (the former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar and the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs), and former Minister of International Cooperation His Excellency Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, current Minister of Foreign Affairs.
  • The Embassy of the State of Qatar in San Jose - Costa Rica was opened on 11 March 2011. The Ambassador of the State of Qatar in San Jose presented his credentials to the President of the Republic, Mrs. Laura Chenxia, ​​on 13 April 2011.
  • His Excellency the Ambassador Mohamed Bin Kurdi Taleb Al-Marri presented a copy of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, Mr. Manuel Antonio Gonzalez, on 3 February 2016, and presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Costa Rica, Mr. Luis Guillermo Solis, on 2 March 2016.
  • His Excellency  the Ambassador Dr. Khamis Rashid M. Al-Kaabi presented a copy of his credentials to  the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, Mr. Manuel Ventura Robles, on 13 of November 2019.
